This book is published as part of the "TREE OF LIFE" exhibition held at DIESEL ART GALLERY in Shibuya from January 22 to April 21, 2022. This book is designed by art director/graphic designer Ryohei Kaneda.

Born in 1994, Nakanishi traveled to America in 2016 to work as an assistant for NY-based artist Meguru Yamaguchi, wherein he started to work on his own projects. After returning to Japan in 2019, Nakanishi developed his break-through work, the FLOWER OF LIFE series, which postmarked his active involvement in group exhibitions in Japan and overseas. He remains a member of Meguru Yamaguchi’s studio "GOLD WOOD ART WORKS".

Combining digital aesthetics informed by his background in graphic design, and textures of traditional painting, Nakanishi creates a unique style that explores the boundaries of contemporary art.

This book contains digitally crafted graphic artworks of which its contents could be described as the groundwork of the accompanying exhibit and features different textures and colors from the exhibited work that have been altered with acrylic paint. This book allows readers a peek into Nakanishi’s creative process for the exhibition.
