Calm & Punk Gallery, an alternative gallery space that has held numerous exhibitions, is pleased to announce the release of its original book, "CALM & PUNK Book”.
The first volume is an unusual pixel picture book all of "diagonal" pixels, by Japanese pixel designer "ten /ten_do_ten".
Selected graphics from over 10,000 designs published daily on the designer's website are now in "diagonal" form. Based on the pixel screen, this is a confident work that breaks the rules of the designer who been following the rules of vertical and horizontal.
The world of pixels developed in the medium of "picture books," which will continue to exist as printed matter with a sense of sculpture for children.
The design is the result of a combination of conflicting elements that is never seen before, as like "simple expression with complex emotion," "hard form and humorous atmosphere," "anyone can do it, no one can do it," "contemporary technique with classic results," "highbrow, fully scum," this is a "picture book and a book of picture" that’s full of pleasure and joy to the eyes.
ten_do_ten is a Japanese pixel designer.
"ten" means dot and pixel in Japanese, ten does tens, ten by ten.
While a student at Musashino Art University, he studied under Gento Matsumoto.
He became a band member of Delaware in 1995 and left in 2001. In 2001, after 9/11, he launched the website ten_do.
As a pixel designer who manipulates pixels at will, he designs domestically, sexily, craftily, crazily, and stoically on a daily basis.
In addition to design activities and collaborative productions in Japan, he has participated in numerous client work and exhibitions overseas.
