Jun Takahashi is the founder and designer of the internationally recognized and highly acclaimed fashion brand "UNDERCOVER" and an artist in his own right. Madsaki is an artist born in Osaka, raised in New York, and since returning to Japan, he has been working as a member of Kaikai Kiki, a group led by Takashi Murakami. This rare book contains not only their collaborative works but also their solo works.



■ JUN TAKAHASHI

 Born in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture in 1969. In 1988, he entered Bunka Fashion College and launched "UNDERCOVER" in 1990 while still a student there. In 1991, he graduated from the apparel design department of the same institute.'' In 1994, he participated in the Tokyo Collections for the first time as "UNDERCOVER" from the 1994-95 Fall-Winter Collection. In September of the same year, he established Undercover Ltd. In 1997, he won the Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix Newcomer Award, and in 2001, the Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix. 2002, he participated for the first time in the '03 Spring-Summer Paris Collection.' In 2009, he presented his Spring/Summer 2010 men's collection at the 76th Pitti Uomo; in 2013, he won the Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix for the second time, and in '18, he participated in the 93rd Pitti Immagine Uomo for the second time as a guest designer.


■ MADSAKI

Born in Osaka in 1974 and relocated to New Jersey at a young age, MADSAKI graduated from the Parsons School of Design in New York (BFA, 1996) and was a member of international artist group Barnstormers before starting his solo career. Both satirical and sentimental, aggressive yet vulnerable, MADSAKI has used graffiti influences as a way to express the frustration and alienation of his bicultural identity and to critique the value of art.
