■ Jeron Braxton Solo Exhibition “DOPAMINE”

Jeron Braxton is an American artist known for creating a unique world and characters centered around the medium of animation. His works address contemporary issues such as Black culture and social justice, distinguished by a one-of-a-kind visual style and provocative themes. Braxton has achieved commercial success through collaborations with top creators and brands.
In "DOPAMINE," Braxton's character "Oxycotton Tail" is prominently featured. Despite its catchy appearance reminiscent of nostalgic 90s and early 2000s video games, "Oxycotton Tail" symbolizes youth mental health, addiction, and the structures of consumerism. The exhibition showcases new silkscreen prints featuring poppies and "Oxycotton Tail's" face, symbolizing the impact of consumerism on individuals and the cycle of endless desire and pursuit. Braxton's approach utilizes pop art techniques reminiscent of artists like Andy Warhol, emphasizing visual impact and reproducibility and reflecting the essence of mass production and consumption.
The 'DOPAMINE' exhibition is a significant milestone for Braxton, marking his first solo show in Japan. The exhibition, held in the heart of Harajuku, a vibrant center of youth culture, is a unique opportunity to experience Braxton's 'Oxycotton Tail' in a variety of mediums, including painting, prints, video, and sculpture. The exhibition invites viewers to reflect on consumerism and societal structures.
