GASBOOK 27 is a collection of SHOHEI TAKASAKI’s works over the course of his activities in the past several years, as well as new works to be revealed at his solo exhibition in February 2013.
While his distinct dynamic lines and dots and his unique sense of color have been consistent, this collection of his works also shows the evolution (deepening) of his expression and changes in the subjects he depicts.
SHOHEI TAKASAKI
Contemporary artist born in Saitama, Japan in 1979. He earnestly began his art activities after providing artwork for music artists' jackets and event flyers. After working in Portland, U.S.A. for about 10 years, he moved his base to Tokyo in the summer of 2019, where he presents sculptures and installations, mainly paintings. He has exhibited his work in various cities including Portland, Los Angeles, Kuwait, Melbourne, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, and his work is also in the public collections of the Starbucks headquarters in Seattle and the Hoxton Hotel in Portland. He relocated to Sydney, Australia In the summer of 2021, to begin a new career.
